As you wind down the stone path, immersed in a tropical garden of coconut palms, lush lawns and flowering plants you get the first taste of this urban oasis. The scent of frangipani floats in the air and you forget that moments ago you were zig-zagging through one of Bali’s most popular tourist strips.
Villa Aman is a four-bedroom villa, with an addition one-bedroom garden bungalow, that is created with traditional Balinese materials and the natural charm of the area in mind. Dark wooden floors are complemented by bright white walls and thatched ceilings. Artwork adorns the walls, which is no surprise given the Balinese’s penchant for art and culture.
The living room is a large, spacious area perfect for the whole group to relax and enjoy some much-needed downtime. Large, cosy sofas call your name and the bookshelf is loaded with books to keep you entertained. There is also another living area, known as the big room, which offers more space to relax and recharge.
The large kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to cook or there is Chef Putu on hand to whip up one of his favourite local dishes. The staff will do the supermarket shopping for you (with grocery money provided) so you can arrive to a fully-stocked fridge. Meals can be enjoyed in one of the indoor or outdoor dining areas or in the breakfast nook.
Upstairs is the master bedroom and children’s bedroom and there is another room (up another set of stairs) that is a rooftop library, with stunning views over the garden and neighbourhood.
Downstairs, there is the two guest bedrooms, the kitchen dining and living areas and a media room.
The bedrooms are all bright and airy and offer dreamy, large beds to slump onto after a long day. And, all the rooms except for the children’s room offer an en-suite.
One of the most stunning things about this villa is the outdoor area. The tropical garden is lush and full of beautiful plants, creating the most magical sanctuary feel. There are large lawns for children to play on or for games of football or badminton! The pool is the perfect place to cool off in, especially in the balmy Bali weather!
